Spring is just around the corner.

Which means it’s almost time to shift from knitting those warm winter items so something more…

Elegant.

While I’m personally not a big shawl (or lace) knitter, I know that they are extremely popular amongst hand knitters.

So I’ve created a round up of some of my favorite, FREE shawl patterns.

Our favorite FREE shawl projects for springtime

These projects are ones I either found personally interesting or were VERY popular already.

But just because something is popular doesn’t mean you’ve heard about it before.

So here are a few FREE shawls you might enjoy knitting up.

  • Wild Swan by Anne-Lise Maigaard & Nim Teasdale

Honestly I have no clue why this shawl pattern is available for free. It's complex lace patterns could easily be charged for. But lucky for you it's available to everyone to enjoy!

  • Traveling Woman by L Abinante

When I got started knitting it seemed everyone was making this shawl. It's quick to knit and has a lot of symbolism from the designer. And that lace section looks incredible!
